November, what a tease this month is. We have had highs in the 70’s and lows below freezing. Residents are still in a mix between holding on to their summer time attire, and others have gone full blown winter. For us at Ski Haus, we keep our fingers crossed for snow…lots of snow! Our new gear has arrived and we are stoked to be selling Salomon for the first time, as well as all of our other great brands including Rossignol, Liberty, Yes, and Smokin snowboards, just to name a few.
A Few days ago the staff and I drove out to Reno Nevada for an awesome workshop with Master Fit University on custom boot fitting and boot shell modification. We are happy to say we now have not one, but 3 certified boot fitters in the shop! We were also able to stop by and see Smokin Jay at the Smokin snowboard shop and pick up a few new boards for the season. On the way back we were stoked to see a dusting of snow on the peaks, and the speculation began over whether or not Snowbowl will open the 11th? Unfortunately, we still don’t know for sure, but they said the 11th, so we are prepping for this upcoming Friday.
Little Flagstaff news- Election season has been in full swing and it will be great to have it over and the countless amounts for political signs will come down all over town, however, the real trick is getting the people who put them up to take the down as well. If you have not been through Flag in the last 6 months, you may notice a few large changes in the downtown area. Buildings have been torn down to make room for a new colossal hotel right across from Wheeler Park. I have not made up my mind on how I feel about this addition, I guess only time will tell. Other than that the ebb and flow of Flagstaff has been consistent, residents seem to eagerly wait to see what winter has in store.
